We have over 35 years experience in the helping profession. We have founded and overseen rehabilitation centers for "street people". We have provided group therapy and one-to-one counseling in Addictions, Codependency, Eating disorders, Marriage Preparation, Enrichment, and Counseling, Family, family of Origin and Abuse Issues, Grief counseling, Stress, and Anger management.
While not necessarily by design, our experience tells us that we focus on leading our clients towards a Cathartic experience. It is by design that we also use Cognitive therapies when the symptoms and situations warrant. Lorne often finds himself drawing on Carl Jung's psychological theories in order to understand presenting symptoms, behavior and problems.
We both started our Professional lives in the helping profession -- crisis and social concern organizations. Soon afterward we founded and supervised Rehabilitation centers for "people on the streets".
We were in Private practice in 2 communities on the West Coast for 5 years, Powell River and Parksville, BC. We provided counseling services in our private practice, as well as teaching anger management, addiction training, codependency and rebuilding courses in the local University extension college.
We provided Group therapy and Anger Management for the Courts and Probations, for men with violence and anger issues. We were the EFAP counselors(Employee and Family Assistance Providers) for Warren Shepell - Forestry and BC Hydro.
We worked with significant numbers of mentally challenged persons. For this work we were paid on a fee for service by the Vancouver Island Community Support, an agency out of Nanaimo, BC, which funded counseling for these individuals in our area.
We were paid on a fee for service basis by the Criminal Injuries Section of the BC Worker's Compensation Board for numerous clients with historical abuse isuues.
Since coming to Saskatoon in 1996, we have been working in human services, as well as Counseling in Saskatoon, Melfort, and assorted rural areas. We have presented Seminars on Childhood sexual abuse in many communities in Saskatchewan.

Nadia is involved in Community Development. Currently she is providing Program Evaluations for several agencies and organizations for both the Provincial and Federal Governments.
Nadia also teaches Social Work courses for the University of Regina.
