STRESS

'They say a certain amount of stress is good for us'. However, when it reaches a certain level we begin to suffer physical and psychological effects. Some people cannot sleep or sleep too much. Some cannot eat, or eat too much. Some get depressed, suicidal, or, begin periods of panic attacks, hyperventilation, hyper-activity, hyper-vigilence etc... Stress  becomes Distress.

Sometimes it may be necessary to take medication to regain your balance. We will work in concert with health-care professionals.  We will work with them to help you determine and define exactly what is causing you stress, and suggest and help you find ways to reduce it, with or without medication.

GRIEF

Indeed for some of you, you may feel like dying, or death warmed over, but GRIEVING is a 'healing feeling'. It is the way our bodies have of dealing with losses in our lives. We will assist you in going through the essential 'grieving process', instead of avoiding it, and therefore -- allowing you to get on with your life.

REBUILDING

Relationships/marriages end. Sometimes we are devastated by what we considered was an impossibility. We can become stuck in our shock, hopelessness, or lostness. We will provide you with building blocks to REBUILD your life again.

Nadia taught a course on this topic called 'Rebuilding', at Malaspina University College, Powell River, BC.

SELF-ESTEEM

The above events can knock the stuffing out of our sense of worth. We begin to think very little of ourselves. We will investigate the 'stuff' that make us feel good about ourselves, look at where in the past we may have lost out in the building of a solid foundation for good, lasting self-esteem, and guide you into a healthy 'self-worth'.
